Delighted to announce Sun Xun’s ongoing group show ‘The Unknown Future’, Hebei International Visual Art Experimental Exhibition at NIU Art Space, Hebei, Shijiazhuang, China. Emphasizing the individual, ‘The Unknown Future’ captures the notions of independence, freedom of thought and additional ideologies embedded in various forms of representations including, documentary, art, film, two/three dimensional animation, experimental video, sound, internet art, interactive audio and video installations amongst others.
Sun Xun’s work primarily involves making images using various materials such as colour powder, woodcuts and traditional ink, and collating these to produce a film, which is often presented in an immersive setting. His art thus acts as a theatre of memory, replete with shuttering sequences and jarring juxtapositions of surrealistic and recognisable images, which collectively serve to scrape the uncontested surface of politicised truth.
