28 May 2014 – 01 June 2014 Sun Xun has been selected to present three films at SiGNS, the pioneering festival in India for digital videos curated by Riyas Komu in participation with the Kochi-Muziris Biennale. ‘Lie’ (2006), ‘Requiem’ (2007) and ‘Heroes No Longer’ (2008), three of his early films, will be screened in a programme that includes works by William Kentridge, Sudarshan Shetty as well as Peter Fishli & David Weiss. ‘Lie’ presents Sun Xun’s interest in history and desire to seek out the truth of historic events, a thematic that is developed in ‘Requiem’, which introduces the menacing giant-sized mosquitos that represent those organisms that suck the life out of people, as well as ‘Heroes No Longer’, which presents the magician, otherwise known as the only legal liar.
